Healthy Kids Day

The City of Wilmington and the YMCA present the 5th Annual Healthy Kids Day  at Empie Park featuring a variety of activities including tennis, lacrosse, volleyball, T-ball, soccer, laser tag, and basketball sports stations; face painting and bounce houses; information booths and vendors; a Family Fun Run; plus games and prizes.

Kure Beach Street Festival

The Kure Beach Street Festival takes place within a few yards of the beach near Ocean Front Park and the Kure Beach Fishing Pier and features food, arts and crafts, and live entertainment. Kids’ activities include face painting, balloon shapes and crafts (Noon to 4pm). Please, no coolers, alcohol or pets. The Schedule of Stage Events is as follows: 11:30am, No Sleeves Magic Show; 12:30pm, Jolly Mon Da DJ; 1pm, Junk Yard Mama; 2:30pm, Jolly Mon Da DJ; 3:30pm, Overtyme Band.

15th Annual  Arts Sensation: A Benefit Performace for Cape Fear River Watch

The 15th Annual Arts Sensation features performances by The Midatlantic, which specializes in a blend of progressive folk, Americana, and bluegrass with a hint of rock and jazz; Trashcan Therapy, music from 7th and 8th grade students from Roland-Grise Middle School directed by Pete Frank; the Company Tap Dancers; and a variety of dance from local choreographers and dancers from The Dance Cooperative, The Dance Element, the Wilmington School of Ballet, and Forward Motion Dance Company.

North Carolina Black Film Festival

The Black Arts Alliance presents the North Carolina Black Film Festival, which will be screening more than 20 independently made features, shorts, animation and documentary films. Each piece of work is written, directed or produced by a person of color. A prize of $500 is awarded in each category, provided the category has at least three juried entries.
