The Bones Of: Sculptures by Dustin Farnsworth

A native of Lansing, Michigan, Dustin Farnsworth’s works are informed by the collapse of industry and depict the rusted mementoes of a bygone era in American culture and their effect on a future generation who will inherit these shattered vestiges of a broken dream – the American Dream.

This exhibit runs through June 5th.

The Brooklyn Arts Center presents Made in NC Handmade Marketplace featuring local and regional artists and crafters selling affordable artwork to the public. Food trucks, a cash bar, and coffee will also be available. The admission fee of $5.00 is good for both days and includes a raffle ticket.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown begins at Red Cross and North Front streets. View from Front, Dock, or North 2nd streets. Grandstand is located at North Front and Princess streets.

Admission is free.

St. Patrick’s Day Festival

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival follows the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with live music at the Main Stage at North Front and Princess streets (rain or shine). The event will include performances from Blarney Brogues, Striking Copper, and The Walsh Kelley School of Irish Dance. Food and drinks will also be available for sale.

Saturday, March 12th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

US Open Fat Bike Championship

The US Open Fat Bike Championship at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort  features a large circle where rider can ride from soft sand to hard-packed sand along the ocean’s edge. All bicycles are permitted but tires over four inches are recommended. Please note: Race times depend on low tide occurrence.
